Nicolas Goubert, technical director of Michelin Motorsport, spoke to the press in Jerez. He provided some clarifications regarding the various problems encountered by the rear tires at the start of the season, while outlining future allocations.

- Problem encountered by Loris Baz at Sepang; Analysis of the tire debris showed that a puncture was the cause of the tire destruction.

- Problem encountered by Scott Redding in Argentina; the combination of a track temperature as unexpected as it was high, a demanding route and the driver's build led to delamination of the tire, a visible consequence of a construction that was not strong enough. Term that can a priori be replaced by “carcass not rigid enough”.
The consequence is that all tires using this carcass (regardless of the quality of the rubber) have been removed from the allocation made available to drivers and will be removed forever.

Concerning the front tire, two types of construction remain and are currently offered on each circuit. If the profile of the front tire is fixed, next Monday's tests in Jerez could lead to new constructions.
