Last night in Berlin, as 2016 world champion of the FIM premier category, Marc Marquez concluded the series of answers to questions asked to the 34 drivers and 11 teams celebrated.

We offer you our translation.

This is your third MotoGP title but it is clear that you have changed your approach. Can you tell us why you felt you had to do this?

“Yes, I started to understand when, last year, I was not here (laughs) because I had made some mistakes. I then began to realize that, perhaps, sometimes the “on/off” style can be dangerous. We tried to handle it a different way this year and we did it well. So yes, but you know, around me, everyone in the team supported me and we achieved our goal which was to win the championship.”

You tried the 2017 bike. What work remains to be done in Japan so that you have the bike that suits you?

“Yes, of course, we now have the whole pre-season still to do. We will start again in February, but we did the first tests in Valencia. It didn't go bad, there's still a lot of work to do but the feeling is good. So we will try to manage well, we will try to improve to be competitive and be here again next year, but it will be difficult.”

If you weren't in MotoGP, is there another discipline that would tempt you?

“(Laughs) First of all, congratulations to all these champions (who are here), because that means they had an incredible season, but as many people know, I'm a big fan of MX, and I would like to to be in Gajser or Dungey's place, because I love it and I follow MX off-road a lot. You know, all these guys deserve it and it’s really nice to be here with all of them.”
