Before even continuing to report on this first Grand Prix of the season, with the post-race press conference, we would like to tip our hats off to the Michelin MotoGP competition department and to the entire team led on the ground by Nicolas Goubert .
However, Bridgestone technicians had set the bar very high in 2015, by lining up, after 7 years of monopoly, no fewer than 17 types of slick tires with various varieties of heat and/or chemical treatment.
But after an absence of 7 years and difficult tests in Valence last year, the Clermont-Ferrand firm was able to raise the bar and, with unfailing responsiveness, provide Losail with tires which made it possible to go even faster than last year.
At a time when it is fashionable to do "French bashing" almost everywhere, we would simply like to salute the work of the men of Michelin with a big tip of the hat (or a thumbs up , for the younger generations)!
