It was in 1994 on the Eastern Creek circuit in Australia that Lucio Cecchinello raced for the first time under the colors of GIVI on a Honda in the World Motorcycling Championship. Many seasons have passed since then and many talented riders have forged part of the history of the LCR Honda team alongside GIVI.

The prestigious company (based in Brescia and leader in the production and sale of motorcycle accessories) was founded in 1978 by former rider Giuseppe Visenzi and is now one of the most respected figures in the MotoGP world. During the last Dutch TT in Assen, Lucio Cecchinello and the entire LCR team wanted to celebrate this long-standing partnership on the occasion of a special event since it was the 250rd Grand Prix contested by the team with the support of GIVI.

Many journalists from a multitude of different countries (Italy, Spain, France, Great Britain, Germany, etc.) joined the team for an aperitif and dinner in the company of key people from HRC Honda and of course Cal Crutchlow, the pilot of the LCR structure, who proudly wears the colors of GIVI for the second year in a row.

Giuseppe Visenzi (Founder of GIVI): “Together with my wife Willy, my daughter Hendrika and my son Vincenzo we would like to deeply thank Lucio and the entire LCR Honda team for the extreme professionalism they have shown, their reliability and their determination over all these years. It is these qualities and the nature of our relationships that have allowed us to reach the symbolic number of 250 Grands Prix contested together. Unfortunately, we have sometimes lacked success and this has on several occasions compromised the ambitious objectives that the team fully deserves to achieve. We obviously hope to achieve excellent results in the future thanks to the extraordinary commitment of everyone.”

Cal Crutchlow: “I had the pleasure of meeting the Visenzi family some time ago and I am extremely proud to be racing on the track with the colors of GIVI on my Honda RC213V. I am grateful for the tremendous support GIVI is providing for my second season with the LCR Honda team. I wanted to dedicate this special event to Mr Visenzi because he was a combative pilot and he knew how to maintain an extraordinary passion for this sport.”

Lucio Cecchinello (team manager of the LCR Honda team): “First of all, I would like to thank all the guests who attended this special event in Assen. GIVI has been involved in motorcycle racing alongside us for a long time and the passion, energy and commitment they have always demonstrated are simply the values we have in common. Together with my team we would like to sincerely thank the Visenzi family and the members of the GIVI staff for the importance of their support and I hope that we can celebrate another 250 races alongside them.”
