Álvaro Bautista will wear the colors of the Pull&Bear Aspar team for a second consecutive year.

Álvaro Bautista, who returned to the Aspar clan at the start of 2017, will continue to play for the same structure for one more season. The two parties have known each other for a long time since the Spaniard raced for the same team between 2006 and 2009, in the lower categories. The Iberian rider had also won the title of 125cc World Champion there in 2006, before finishing two years later runner-up to Marco Simoncelli in 250cc.

Since the launch of the 2017 campaign, Álvaro Bautista has already scored four Top 7s in races, including a fourth place in Argentina, a fifth in Italy, a sixth in Germany and a seventh in Catalonia. The native of Talavera de la Reina, whose objective remains a Top 5 at the end of the season, has in any case proven that he has perfectly acclimatized to the Ducati Desmosedici GP16.

Jorge Martínez, Aspar Team General Manager : “It is excellent news to have been able to renew this contract with Álvaro Bautista. We believe in him and we are currently having a very solid season. We also have faith in Ducati, which gives us great support. By extending this contract, we will be able to progress even further. I hope we will be able to score many more points this year and next. »

Alvaro Bautista : “I am happy to stay one more season within the Pull&Bear Aspar family. This collaboration can help us grow, both the team and me. We are having a solid season. I also have a very good relationship with the team, I feel good on the Ducati and I have the support of the factory. I think we can continue to improve to get more good results. »
