Here is a press release from Marc van der Streets, the latest episode in a very sad affair which MotoGP could do without, especially since no one knows exactly the origin of the quarrel between the two men.

This press release refers to statements by Michael Bartholemy. This last, present in the paddock “in civilian clothes”, told us this weekend: " I am going to fight. I didn’t work twenty years in the paddock to leave like that”The Count did not wish to make any statement.

The atmosphere was more than gloomy within the team this weekend at Le Mans, and it is becoming urgent that a rational solution be found, otherwise a great team, the fruit of the work of Michael Bartholemy and the money, will leave. by Marc van der Streets, adrift.

On May 19, 2018, Mr. Michael Bartholemy published through the press his legal position regarding the termination with immediate effect of his functions as General Team Manager of Marc VDS Racing Team.

Mr. Marc van der Straten can only regret that Mr. Michael Bartholemy, once again, is speaking out in the media and commenting on a conflict which will be resolved, if necessary, before the competent courts.

As he could not have said more clearly, Mr. Marc van der Straten wants to focus on the future of his team and avoid entering into a media escalation that is inappropriate and detrimental to the team.

However, in view of the attitude of Mr. Michael Bartholemy, Mr. Marc van der Straten sees himself obliged to react.

Firstly, Mr. Marc van der Straten repeats that he refutes the vast majority of public statements made by Mr. Michael Bartholemy.

Secondly, Mr. Marc van der Straten notes that he was open to an amicable settlement, and that he is in no way responsible for the failure, as it stands, of the negotiations.

Finally, Mr. Marc van der Straten indicates that if Mr. Michael Bartholemy ceased to occupy his functions as General Team Manager of Marc VDS Racing Team on Friday evening, it is not to protect the interests of the team, but in due to a court decision obtained Friday morning.

This decision rendered by a Court in Karlsruhe, Germany, prohibits Mr. Michael Bartholemy from working as General Team Manager/Principal Team of Marc VDS Racing Team during the Le Mans race, under threat of a fine of order of up to EUR 250.

This successful legal approach was not desired by Mr. Marc van der Straten and was made necessary by the attitude of Mr. Michael Bartholemy.

The fact that the latter canceled the Moto GP test scheduled for next week in Barcelona demonstrates that he does not defend the interests of the team but, on the contrary, makes decisions that are detrimental to it.

Marc van der Straten here reaffirms his total commitment to the Marc VDS Racing Team, as well as his complete confidence in the members of the team and ultimately his desire to maintain partnerships with the various co-contractors and sponsors.
