After the Czech Republic Grand Prix in Brno, it was at the Red Bull Ring that the CIP-GREEN POWER drivers stopped off last weekend for the first of the two meetings in Austria on the calendar.

At the foot of the podium in Jerez, Darryn Binder was determined to do battle. From the eighth row on the grid, the South African was already in seventh place on the fifth lap. Two laps later, he took control. In the fight for victory and author of the best lap in the race, he crossed the finish line in fourth position, two tenths behind the winner. But after exceeding the limits of the track, he was finally credited with sixth position.

For his home event, Maximilian Kofler started from 26th position. He concluded this first Austrian meeting in 25th place, his best lap in the race being 1.2s behind the best. A clear progression for Maximilian Kofler who will be able to take his revenge in a few days on the same circuit during the Styrian Grand Prix.

Darryn Binder (6th) : " Saturday was difficult for me and I qualified 22nd. We resolved the problem on Sunday morning and I had a good warm-up which allowed me to regain my confidence before the race. Starting from 22nd place, I knew that if I had a good pace and a good feeling, I would find myself at the front. It took me, I think, seven laps to get into first place. I was very happy to fight in the leading group for the podium. Unfortunately, on the last lap I missed the podium by finishing fourth, but as I exceeded the track limits twice, I was demoted to sixth place. So this weekend ended well. Just keep all the positives and confidence from today to move on to the next weekend at the same circuit. We have to try again. It's really awesome. I am very happy and I thank the team and everyone. »

Maximilian Kofler (25th) : " This weekend was quite positive. We have made progress, but we have to work in this way next weekend, still in Austria. We need to do better in qualifying to have a better position on the grid. The first few laps of the race were pretty good. I was able to stay in the leading group, sometimes I had to go off the line because of certain drivers and I lost a little ground. I found myself in the second group and there was a lot of overtaking. This is why we lost time, but I felt comfortable, especially when braking, and I was able to gain an advantage over some of my opponents. We have to work like this next week. »

Alain Bronec (Team Owner) : " Another fantastic race for Darryn! He started from a long distance and managed to lead the race in just a few laps. In the process, he set the fastest lap. We must now try to work a little better in qualifying so that he is closer to the front of the grid. As for Maximilian, he managed to improve his times. For his home event, he progressed and had a good race. Each race allows him to progress and the work he does begins to bear fruit. »
