In 2017, Ducati delivered 55 motorcycles to customers around the world, consolidating the success of the previous year (871) and confirming the positive trend that has characterized the company for eight years.

“2017 was another successful year for Ducati, both commercially and sportingly,” said Claudio Domenicali , Managing Director of Ducati Motor Holding, “We fought for the MotoGP title until the last race, we won six races achieving the best results since 2009. The continuous renewal of the product range and the emphasis placed on producing high quality motorcycles have allowed us to continue growing even in a difficult global market. A big thank you to all the women and men who, every day, create these extraordinary motorcycles with passion and who have allowed Ducati to become one of the great Italian excellences.”

All the models contributed to this result, confirming the constant and continuous progression of Ducati fans around the world. Particularly appreciated is the Multistrada family, which in 2017 was expanded with the all-new Multistrada 950. Good sales of the Monster family, the SuperSport and the exclusive 1299 Superleggera, of which 500 units were purchased even before the start of production, at a price of 80 euros.

Scrambler® confirmed the success of the last two years, by strengthening, with the Desert Sled and the Café Racer, the range of motorcycles offered with this new brand. A total of 14 units delivered in 061, which significantly contributed to the overall sales result.

Growth in Italy is significant, closing 2017 with +12%, with 8 motorcycles delivered.

An equally positive sales trend in Europe, where Ducati increased its deliveries by 4% for a total of 31 units. Significant growth in the Spanish market, which recorded an increase in sales of 123%.

In the United States, which confirms being Ducati's largest market, deliveries increased by 1,3% for a total of 8 motorcycles sold. Argentina is growing, where sales recorded + 898%.

In Asian markets, Ducati delivered a total of 5 motorcycles, strengthening its presence in China (+ 805%), where the sales network doubled from 31 to 9 dealerships.

“Despite a declining global market, we have increased our market share. We have made significant progress, both in consolidated markets such as Italy and Spain and in strategic emerging markets such as China and Argentina. This is thanks to a range capable of retaining the loyalty of “Ducatisti” enthusiasts around the world, but also of winning over new customers with models such as the SuperSport , Multistrada 950 and the family Scrambler® . The sales success of 1299 Superlight et 1299 Panigale R Final Edition also confirms our technological and brand leadership in the premium sports motorcycle segment,” adds Andrea Buzzoni , Director of Global Sales and Marketing.

The positive close of 2017 allows Ducati to look to the future with optimism and confidence. For 2018, the product range is, if possible, even stronger and more innovative. Among all, the Panigale V4 stands out for being the first mass-produced motorcycle by the Bologna-based company to feature a four-cylinder engine strictly derived from MotoGP's Desmosedici, the result of the largest investment in a single product in the history of the 'business. The new Scrambler 1100 adds a whole new dimension to the Scrambler® world, made of technology, performance, very high quality finishes, dimensions and comfort of a maximoto. There Multistrada 1260 Multistrada brings to the world an important technological evolution, with the high resolution display, electronic gear change, and much more torque at intermediate speeds, ideal for sporty touring. Completing the new 2018 motorcycles are the new Monster 821 and the 959 Panigale Corse.
