The traditional speed gathering at the start of the year, organized by the French Motorcycling Federation on February 20 and 21 at the Pôle Mécanique d'Alès, was once again a real success. These two days allowed nearly 70 French drivers to benefit from exclusive pre-season training before the resumption of their respective championships.
The participants invited to this first 2018 speed course are involved at the national and international level in different championships and cups. Depending on the age of the pilots, the FFM qualified instructors have adapted their supervision by focusing their advice on driving, sports preparation or performance. Sports management was led by Alain Bronec, Sports Manager of the French Speed Line.
The 25 power pilots were in the majority and essentially worked on their position and trajectories. Some of them were able to benefit from tests on the Pré-Moto3 Sherco from the Elite Vitesse FFM Group, in order to help them make a change of category. Following these tests, several of them decided to take the plunge and participate in the Pre-Moto3 category within the French Superbike Championship.
In the 500 and Pre-Moto3 categories, there were also many riders. For many of them, it was their first training session of the season which focused on driving and corner entry speed.
The most experienced drivers, most of whom take part in international championships, have refined their winter training by working on the regularity of their tests.
At the end of this course, all the participants and their families welcomed the FFM initiative.
