The horses in the premier category are released! Starting from the third row, Jérémy GUARNONI (Kawasaki Tech Solutions) takes the holeshot and no one will be able to challenge him for victory. Kenny FORAY (BMW) tries to follow the pace imposed by the pilot of the Kawasaki n°111, the duo will not take long to kill the suspense in the first 5 laps. The two drivers quickly took off from the other competitors. GUARNONI, still faster, gradually widens the gap, and heads straight towards victory in front of the reigning Champion who finishes the race more than 12 seconds behind.

Behind, the peloton is organized around the headliners, Erwan NIGON (Honda), Roberto ROLFO (Yamaha) and Morgan BERCHET (Yamaha). The Honda driver, although well visible at the start of the race, gradually drops down the rankings to finish in 16th place.rd instead.

Author of pole position, BERCHET applies himself and manages to gain the upper hand over ROLFO relegated to 4rd position. Behind him, Matthieu LUSSIANA (BMW) is provisionally placed 5rd in front of a Hugo CLERE (Suzuki LMS), Superbike Challenger rider. At 7rd row, the paddock notes the presence of David PERRET Among the leading group, the latter seems more and more comfortable behind the wheel of his new Honda.

The French trio composed of LUSSIANA, CLERE and PERRET, got the better of the Italian who only finished 8rd after a good start to the race.

At the end of the race LUSSIANA increases the pace and records his best time at 13rd lap to catch up with BERCHET, a duel begins to grab the podium. On the penultimate lap, LUSSIANA manages to steal third place from BERCHET, but the latter does not give up and recovers his dues before crossing the checkered flag.

Yamaha rider Axel MAURIN redoubled his efforts at the end of the race and took 6rd place ahead of the 2017 Vice-Champion David PERRET, who finishes 7rd.

In Superbike Challenger, Jonathan HUGOT (Yamaha), the fastest rider during testing, cannot resist the rise ofHugo CLERE and goes down the rankings. The scenario repeats itself during the second debate: Jérémy GUARNONI (Kawasaki) takes off alone in the lead. The Team Tech Solutions pilot is chased by Kenny FORAY (BMW Tecmas) and Erwan NIGON (Honda). With 5 laps remaining, GUARNONI managed to break away and secure the victory.

FORAY, a tough opponent, struggles in the second part of the race and secures 2rd step of the podium.

NIGON, for his part, is losing momentum and is the subject of a successful attack carried out by Matthieu LUSSIANA (BMW), who himself emerges victorious from a battle with Roberto ROLFO (Yamaha). Erwan NIGON must be satisfied with 4rd place in front of the Italian rider and Morgan BERCHET (Yamaha) who both finished 5rd and 6rd.

Note, the surprise of the day comes from Sébastien SUCHET (Kawasaki Tech Solutions) who gets off to a very good start and climbs to 4rd place at the end of the first round. The leader's teammate demotes as the debates progress and concludes at 7rd place, a result that bodes well for the rest of the season.

In Superbike Challenger, Hugo CLERE (Suzuki LMS) takes the reins of the category after only 2 laps, relegating Jonathan HUGOT (Yamaha) to second place. The latter makes a mistake after a few laps: bad luck! The last two places on the podium are then played out between Maxime BONNOT (BMW Tecmas) and Gabriel PONS (Kawasaki) who respectively finish 2rd and 3rd of their category.

In Superbike, Jérémy GUARNONI sets the tone from the 1st stage of the Championship by winning 53 points out of 54 possible, a good omen for the 24 Hours Moto for the Toulouse rider! Kenny FORAY provisionally established itself in second place with 40 points ahead of Matthieu LUSSIANA (29 points).

RACE 1: LOUIS ALONE IN HIS BUBBLE

LE MANS FSBK 2018 1st round of the French Superbike Championship March 31 & April 1, 2018 © PHOTOPRESS

Louis BULLE (Yamaha) is carrying out a good operation at the start of the season. The iconic driver in the orange helmet emerges perfectly from the starting grid and immediately takes command of operations.

In pursuit, Clement STOLL (Triumph), Enzo BOULOM (Yamaha), Guillaume ANTIGA (Yamaha) and Félix PERON (Yamaha) form a group whose hierarchy is extremely mobile. PERON loses the front in the “pif paf” after the Dunlop Curve and returns to the pits.

Behind the lead driver, STOLL negotiates with BOULOM for 2rd position. After multiple exchanges, BOULOM misses the green garage and loses two positions at once, the driver of the Yamaha n°25 then experiences a “seesaw race” and finishes in 5rd rank.

BULLE then finds himself at the mercy of STOLL. The two men engage in an exceptional mano a mano. “Loulou”, in 2rd position in the last laps remains in the leader's wheel and prepares his attack... Objective achieved a few laps from the finish for the driver native of Chambéry who flies to victory! STOLL is satisfied with 2rd step of the podium.

Cédric TANGRE (Suzuki) which started from 9rd places on the starting grid, gives the change during the race and goes back at high speed towards the leading group. He honored his title acquired last year and dislodged Guillaume ANTIGA (Yamaha) in the final laps to complete the podium in this eventful race.

In the Pirelli 600 Trophy, Gaëtan MATERN (Kawasaki) held off Dylan MILLE (Yamaha) at the start of the race but the latter came back very strongly...he also pushed his predecessor aside and got the better of MATERN. Valentin GRIMOUX (Yamaha) finished the race in 3rd position ahead of the very young Joris INGIULLA (Yamaha), a newcomer to the category.

Louis BULLE (Yamaha) once again made the best start but was quickly passed by BOULOM who took the lead of the race for a short time. BULLE wants the perfect score and you can feel it! The rider of the #3 Yamaha regains control and heads towards victory.

Part 3rd, Guillaume ANTIGA (Yamaha) retains his place at the start of the race. After missing his start from pole position, Clement STOLL (Triumph) regains grip from 4rd position and takes the best of ANTIGA and BOULOM. Yet in the leader's wheel, the Triumph driver can do nothing but still climbs onto the 2rd step of the podium.

We observe the splendid comeback of the 2017 French Champion, Cédric TANGRE (Suzuki), which ranks 5rd after starting from the 23rd position on the starting grid. Victim of the “comeback” of the rider of the Suzuki n°1, Guillaume POT (Yamaha), the former “Boss of the Promosport 600” finished 6rd after being dislodged from the 5rd position he occupied during a good part of the race.

On the Pirelli 600 Trophy side, Gaëtan MATERN (Kawasaki) takes his revenge on Dylan MILLE (Yamaha) and shines ahead of the latter. The 3rd place is to the credit of the “new kid” in the category, Joris INGIULLA (Yamaha).

In Supersport, it is Louis BULLE who holds the reins of the provisional ranking with 51 points ahead Clement STOLL (42 points) and Cédric TANGRE (28 points).

On the Pirelli 600 Trophy side, Gaëtan MATERN stands out with 46 points ahead of Joris INGIULLA (33 points) and Valentin GRIMOUX (29 points).

Halfway through the race, the LAPIERRE, PERRIN, JUCHA, BOUDIN are held in less than a second! Drama in the last lap: triple fall of the drivers in second, third and fourth position which led to the raising of a red flag by the Race Direction. Marceau LAPIERRE, then in the lead, won. Line VIELLARD (Yamaha) and Ilan PERON (Moriwaki), opportunists, complete the final podium.

HENRY takes the advantage over JUCHA. He then finds himself under pressure from Line VIEILLARD. Applied, the young woman finds the opening and scores a double blow on JUCHA and HENRY in the same round! Neck to neck until the last turn, she confirmed her advantage with the best time in the race during the last lap and finally ranked 2rd. The last step of the podium is completed by HENRY.

Note the great performance of Alexis BOUDIN (Beon Yamaha) who starts after the other competitors in the category due to a problem that occurred in the warm-up lap. He made remarkable progress which finally stopped at 5th place.

Another figure in the category, Bartholomé PERRIN (Moriwaki) is unable to take part in the debates following his fall in the first race.

There is no doubt that Team REEVES / WILKES wants to take their revenge and show that they are the boss on the handlebars of their 600cc. At the start of the last lap the STREUER / ROUSSEAU pair also in 600cc gets dangerously close to the leader and takes the lead! While the paddock awaits the response from the British pair, the Side n°77 is forced to return to the pits, due to a mechanical problem, on the last lap.

The LEGLISE / OLLIGER duo, off to a very good start, was the victim of a racing incident 3 laps from the finish, which forced them to abandon: a hard blow even though they had finished second the day before.

First in F1, OUGER / PEUGEOT stands out ahead of GALLERNE / CHAIGNEAU. After a good comeback, the family duo VINET / VINET completes the podium.
