The Silverstone circuit hosts the twelfth meeting of the 2016 MotoGP season this weekend. It is on this same circuit that Loris Baz won two WorldSBK races in 2012 and 2013.

On this circuit which has been successful for him in the past, the Haut-Savoyard concluded this first day with the 15th time in the combined ranking. He thinks he will be able to aim for a place in Q2 on Saturday. With rain expected tomorrow, Loris worked on the settings of his Ducati GP14.2 in preparation for the race on Sunday.

« We accomplished a lot of work today. I think this day was very important, because if it rains tomorrow, the bike we have at the end of this day will be similar to the one we will use in the race.

This morning we encountered some difficulties with the electronics and the chassis, but at the end of the second session we managed to use a tire that suits us well. We tried to get closer to Hector and I think there is still a lot of room for improvement. The bike's potential is not as high at Silverstone as it was at previous circuits, but I think a Top 10 finish is possible. We still have work to do tomorrow, but we are heading in the right direction.

On Saturday, Q2 is possible. I think we will have to go through Q1, but everything will depend on the weather. In the dry, we know at what level we can race. On the other hand, if it rains, the situation can change. However, I preferred that it not rain tomorrow so that I could continue the work we started today.«
