After the German Grand Prix at the Sachsenring track, Loris Baz and the Avintia Racing team traveled to the heart of Austria for a two-day private test with other teams and riders from the MotoGP field.
Nestled in the green valleys of the town of Spielberg, the Red Bull Ring will host the next meeting of the MotoGP calendar after the summer break. This test was therefore the ideal opportunity for Loris to gradually get his bearings aboard his Ducati GP14.2 while preparing for the next Grand Prix.
Once the test was over, Loris began the summer break. On the program for this break, numerous physical training sessions are planned for the Frenchman who hopes to return in great shape.
“I was able to complete a lot of laps on the first day. This was a really positive point: the circuit had a lot of right turns, I wasn't sure if my foot would handle it. Adrien (Morillas) accompanied me during this test and we tried to work as best as we could on the settings of the bike and on my riding style to find solutions to the problems I have been suffering from since the start of the season. .
We made a lot of progress on the first day. The second day my foot suffered a lot, but we were able to find some solutions. There was no miracle, but I am confident and we have taken a small step forward.
For the Grand Prix, there is still work to do. The circuit is very unusual and it is very good to know it. It's a track that requires a lot of engine power and on which acceleration is more than important. It won't be easy, but we will have to continue working. Likewise, the tires will not be the same as those we had during this test. There will be this additional parameter to take into account. Physically I will feel much better and should be fine.
During the break, my goal will be to train as much as possible in order to get back into full shape. My foot will continue to get stronger, step by step, as I continue my training sessions. »
