After a positive first day, Loris Baz finished the second with the same momentum. The Avintia Racing team driver finished the session in 12th place, less than a second behind the best time.
Loris took advantage of this day to carry out a promising 18-lap race simulation. It was precisely in race configuration with full fuel that Loris set his best time in 1'56.427.
Tomorrow, the Ducati rider will carry out a new, longer race simulation to get closer to the distance of the first Grand Prix race. He will also take advantage of this last day to perfect the settings of his second Ducati GP14.2.
« This day went pretty well. However, Michelin brought two front tire references, one of which does not suit us at all. It doesn't suit many other riders, especially Ducati riders. So we didn't drive with it and focused on the second reference. Unfortunately, we only have four for this test. After using two yesterday, we used a third to complete a long outing. We will save the last one for tomorrow and do one last simulation in racing configuration.
It is obviously complicated to work like this, but we have managed to progress. Our long run went well. We learned a lot and the pace was good. I recorded my best lap in race configuration with full fuel. We still have the means to do better. We completed 18 laps today, we will try to do 22 tomorrow, the distance of the race.
Before this simulation, we drove with the tire we don't like and a tire from the day before. Tomorrow we will also use an old tire to confirm some settings before doing our final simulation. We don't have enough tires to do both simulations and the hunt for times.
We will also take the opportunity to complete around ten laps on my second bike and validate the settings for the race. »
