From last Wednesday to Friday, Loris Baz and the Avintia Racing team were present at the Circuito de Jerez along with other MotoGP and WorldSBK teams for a private test.

For the Frenchman, it was a question of continuing the work initiated the previous week in Valencia aboard his new Ducati GP15. Loris is delighted with this development since he was finally able to enjoy driving again, while concentrating on his settings.

At the end of the first two days, the Haut-Savoyard climbed to second place in the MotoGP combined ranking with a time of 1'39.184, just over two tenths of the category reference time. On Friday, rain arrived on the track, thus shortening the tests.

Loris is now entering the winter break. He will undergo an operation on December 7 to remove the plates and screws from his right foot. Then, he will resume training in preparation for the first test in Sepang scheduled for January 31.

“This second test went very well. Starting from the base we found in Valencia, I immediately found a good feeling. I really had fun and we were able to continue the work started during the last test.

During the first day we worked a lot with the front tire used this season. During the second day we used the base of the tire which will be available next season and which we had a first glimpse of in Valencia. I'm happy because we were able to set regular times, and I had a great time on the bike.

Physically, I am doing very well. I am having the plates removed on December 7th. For the moment it's okay, but it's obvious that it will be better once I'm rid of all this. The next test is scheduled for the end of January in Sepang so I will take advantage of the month of December to recover. During the month of January, I prepared as best I could to be ready to face the rest of the hostilities.”
