Loris Baz and the Reale Avintia Racing team finished positively the last official pre-season test at the Losail International Circuit. Riding the Ducati Desmosedici GP15, the French rider set a time of 1'55.539 to position himself just over a second behind the best time.
During these three days under the spotlight of the Qatari track, Loris Baz found the feeling he lacked and regained confidence. The Haut-Savoyard took advantage of Saturday to complete a 20-lap race simulation. He admits to being satisfied with the progress made since the first test in Valencia last November.
Relegating the injuries that occurred last season to the past, the French driver is focusing with optimism on the opening event of the season at Losail next week.
Loris Baz (17th, 1'55.539) :
“Overall, this last test went well and I leave the circuit with a lot of optimism. I had a good feeling with the bike from the first session. The setting base that we found at Phillip Island proved to be conclusive and that is a positive point. We improved our times in each session and we regained full confidence. During these three days, we were able to evaluate different tires and we now know which direction we will take in the race. I also had the opportunity to do a race simulation on Saturday during which we learned a lot.

I was not able to progress in the ranking in my last laps, but the important thing is to have completed the test and validated solid foundations to start the season in the best way.

Compared to the end of last season, we have clearly taken another step forward. Physically everything went well and I can't wait to start the season. »
