After fighting for points, the Frenchman was finally credited with 19th position under the checkered flag of the #GermanGP.

After two positive days at the GoPro German Grand Prix, Loris Baz (Reale Avintia Racing) intended to make it happen in the race, a bit like during the last meeting at Assen where he scored his best result of the season.

Qualified on the fifth row, the Ducati rider made a good start to finish in 15th position on the first pass. In a fight against Andrea Iannone (Team Suzuki Ecstar), Jack Miller (EG 0,0 Marc VDS) and Tito Rabat (EG 0,0 Marc VDS), the Haut-Savoyard finally had to give up scoring a few points due to a lack of grip on the handlebars of his Ducati Desmosedici GP15.

Despite this disappointment, the French driver leaves Germany in 15th place in the general classification, sandwiched between Aleix Espargaró (Aprilia Racing Team Gresini) and Iannone. The Frenchman also gives a satisfactory assessment of this first half of the season. The Haut-Savoyard will take advantage of these few weeks of rest to notably treat his right arm. He will undergo surgery next Wednesday in Aix-en-Provence and hopes that this will allow him to rise further in the hierarchy from the next meeting in Brno.

Loris Baz :
“The start of the race was more than correct. I managed to get into the right group and stayed there for the first nine laps. Suddenly, the rear tire lacked grip on the left side. From then on, the bike became uncontrollable, I could no longer ride as I wanted. On the last sectors of the circuit, I lost almost 1.5 seconds per lap. I think this problem is mainly due to our settings. We made some adjustments during the warm-up, which didn't work. I can't yet pinpoint the cause of this problem, but we really suffered. Still, I have a positive assessment of my start to the season with six races in the points. I almost scored as many as last year. We could have been even better in certain events, but we approached this first part of the calendar wisely. We have clearly progressed while learning. We hope to take advantage of this from Brno to be more aggressive and score more points. »
