Razlan Razali fully concentrates on the role of Team Principal of the PETRONAS SRT team

PETRONAS Sepang Racing Team Principal Razlan Razali will put more emphasis on the team's activities from April 8 as he leaves his other previous position as Sepang International Circuit (SIC) General Manager .

Following this change, the PETRONAS Sepang Racing Team will remain owned by the Sepang International Circuit (SIC) while its new replacement, Azhan Shafriman Hanif, has a strong motorsport background, having previously worked for the title sponsor of the team, PETRONAS.

Razlan Razali was appointed CEO of the SIC on October 8, 2008 and, during his tenure, oversaw a series of key developments at the circuit, including the rollout of a 5-year master plan for the circuit in 2014. After operating at Maximizing the circuit's potential, with overall track utilization reaching 94% throughout the year, the masterplan aims to transform the circuit into a multi-use facility that attracts repeat visits throughout the year.

While developing the circuit's potential, Razlan promoted the Malaysian drivers and team to the world stage, starting with wildcard drivers like Zulfahmi Khairuddin and then full-time drivers. This has established a strong pipeline for the development of Malaysian motorsport, from programs such as the SIC MiniGP, Asia Talent Cup and Spain's CEV, to the MotoGP World Championship. Razlan also spearheaded the formation of the PETRONAS Sepang Racing Team.

He is now 100% focused on the PETRONAS Sepang Racing Team and aims to guide them through the current challenges caused by the Covid-19 pandemic and ensure the team is well placed to continue its season exceptional of 2019 once the races resume.
