The Frenchman experienced some difficulties to gain the right to advance to Q2 at the Aragón Grand Prix.
After being cautious on the opening day of the Aragón Grand Prix, Loris Baz hoped to take advantage of the return of the sun on Saturday to automatically qualify for Q2. Despite all his efforts, the French driver was ranked 18th in the combined ranking and was therefore forced to go through the repechage session.
Incisive, the Haut-Savoyard failed seven tenths of its objective. Plagued by grip and movement problems in the face of higher temperatures, Loris Baz, 17th on the grid, will try to make some adjustments to the set-up of his Ducati Desmosedici GP15 during warm-up to score as many points as possible before to set course for the overseas tour.
Loris Baz (17th) : “It was a very complicated day. Our base of settings could have made our task easier, but unfortunately, it did not work from our first turns of the wheel. We then worked hard to try to find solutions, but the bike still suffers from spurious movements. Despite everything, I am happy with the time I achieved in qualifying compared to the one I set this morning. Despite a few warnings, I was able to complete a fast lap. We still have work to do on Sunday before the race, which promises to be competitive. We will have to engage in a merciless fight to grab a few points. If we can make progress in a few areas of the circuit, we might be able to achieve this. »
