Hit in the hand following a heavy fall on Saturday during the Superpole, Loris Baz had to grit his teeth on Sunday on the San Juan circuit in Argentina.

Author of a good start at the start of the superpole race, the Frenchman quickly found himself in the wake of Alessandro Delbianco before making a mistake again at turn 15, a fall fortunately without consequences for the Yamaha rider who was able to line up on the grid for the second round.

Cautious, the Haut-Savoyard gradually moved up the hierarchy to conclude the penultimate weekend of the year in 12th position. By pocketing four additional points overall, Loris Baz intends to finish the season in the Top 10 in two weeks in Qatar.

Loris Baz (Superpole Race: Fall / Race 2: 12th): “A complicated day once again. My hand hurt a lot during the Superpole race and I had to grit my teeth. I had a good start and quickly managed to move up to 14th position, but only the first nine places are important. So I didn't have to waste time going back up, but while overtaking Alessandro Delbianco in the last corner, I didn't have enough strength in my hand, I also had to touch the rear brake on a dusty part and I went highside again. Fortunately the hand did not hit, but I was very upset. So I was more careful during the second round. The objective was to score the most points. Alone, I had a good pace, but I lost a lot of time overtaking my rivals. I finally finished 12th and left with a few points. I apologize to the team for the error on Saturday which somewhat affected the rest of the weekend. But it's racing and I'm happy to have fought for the points. There is one more event in Qatar during which I will try to finish the season among the top ten in the general classification and aim for a podium. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the medical staff, the Mobile Clinic and Alpinestars for allowing me to stay in shape. »
