The BMW driver concludes his Iberian weekend by scoring the point for 15th place.

By starting from 19th position on the grid, Loris Baz, who had nevertheless been involved in the fight for ninth place on Saturday, this time encountered more difficulty during the second race at MotorLand Aragón . Pointed 18th at the start of the second lap, the representative of the Althea BMW Racing team jostled for a long time against Yonny Hernández and Davide Giugliano.

Despite this skirmish which made him lose contact with the group in front of him, the Haut-Savoyard redoubled his efforts to finally overcome his Colombian rival two laps from the checkered flag and win the title. 15th position.

Tenth in the general classification, five points behind ninth, Toprak Razgatlioglu, Loris Baz is now heading to the Netherlands for the fourth stopover of the season which will take place next weekend at the legendary Assen circuit.

Loris Baz (Race 2 – 15th):

“I slightly missed my start, but I quickly showed myself to be incisive on the first turns. It was going pretty well until Leonov and I touched each other twice in the same curve. Fortunately, I managed to avoid falling, but I had to pull straight ahead. Starting in last position, I managed to get back in the wake of Hernández and Giugliano. While trying to overtake Giugliano, I passed a neutral point and pulled straight again. We lost contact with the peloton, but I was still able to attack Hernández before the finish to score a point. It's a shame, because I was expecting to have a similar race to yesterday. It's frustrating, but I paid a high price for all these mistakes. We will try to do better at Assen, the circuit where I took my first pole position in WorldSBK. The weather forecast looks good and it's a route that I like. Our level is currently between 8th and 11th place. We must continue to work to progress to Superpole 2, because starting from so far this weekend clearly affected the progress of the two rounds. Tests will be organized after the event in Assen during which we will evaluate new elements which, I hope, will allow us to best exploit the potential of the bike during the following races. »
