After a very competitive end to qualifying, YART Yamaha took pole position at the start of the 8 Hours of Slovakia Ring ahead of FCC TSR Honda France and Suzuki Endurance Racing Team.

The return of the sun and an almost dry track at the end of the session offered a thrilling second qualifying session with constant changes of leaders in the last minutes on track. Riding the Austrian Yamaha shod in Bridgestone, Broc Parkes et Marvin Fritz gave everything by finishing their best in 2'16 on a still wet track. Niccolò Canepa took advantage of the improved track conditions to finish in 2'10.146.

However, he is not the fastest this afternoon. The personal best time is signed by Mike Di Meglio in 2'07.823 for the FCC TSR Honda France, also in Bridgestone. He will start in 2nd position on the grid with Josh Hook et Freddy Foray.

The second best performance of the day is the work of Greg Black in 2'09.450 for the Suzuki Endurance Racing Team (Dunlop) who, on the average of the best times of the three drivers, will start in 3rd position on the grid.

Behind this leading trio, we find Honda Endurance Racing (Dunlop) and Team SRC Kawasaki France (Pirelli).

The first private crew, Fany Gastro BMW Motorrad by Mercury Racing, will start in 6th position ahead of the Kawasaki of Bolliger Team Switzerland and the Yamaha of Wójcik Racing Team noticed at the end of qualifying due to a lap in 2'09.528 completed by Christoffer Bergman . The ERC-BMW Motorrad Endurance Team is in 9th place at the start ahead of VRD Igol Pierret Expériences.

The best Superstock, Team 33 Coyote Louit Moto, will start in 11th position. In this category, he is ahead of Wójcik Racing Team 2 and Moto Ain.

Tomorrow on the Slovakia Ring, the track will be reserved for cars and FIA WTCR / OSCARO drivers. The FIM EWC will return to the track on Saturday at 8 a.m. for the warm-up of the 8 Hours of Slovakia Ring, the start of which will be at noon.

A word from the pole position drivers:
Broc Parkes : “I am happy with this pole position and our performances today. This allows me to regain confidence after my crash on Tuesday in private testing. »
Marvin Fritz : “I am satisfied with our work today which allows us to have a good feeling on a wet track. »
Niccolò Canepa : We have shown that we are fast in the dry and wet so we are ready for the race. »
