In addition to the second bikes not being ready, two incidents took place during bike changes during the Czech Republic Grand Prix.

One concerns Loris Baz which caused one of its mechanics to fall, the other, much more publicized, since seen live on the official stream of images produced by Dorna, is the fall ofAndrea Iannone who was forced to lock his front wheel to avoid hitting Alex Espargaro who started without looking.

Results, no injuries, but two motorcycles on the ground including that ofalex rins who then completed his race with bent handlebars.

When changing motorbikes, the rule is simple: a rider can only start again if the way is clear, and priority therefore belongs to the pilot who returns. To make life easier for the latter (it is not easy to look back in a fraction of a second with a full-face helmet), a mechanic stands in front of the motorcycle and holds it with both hands as long as the track n is not free.

This was indeed the case for Alex Espargaro during the last Grand Prix, except that the latter started by forcing passage on his mechanic, and therefore on Andrea Iannone who was arriving.

We know what happens next, but it is illustrated by a new very explicit video broadcast this morning by our colleagues at GPone...
