His twentieth place on Friday was confirmed on this Saturday of a Grand Prix of the Czech Republic which did not bring any clearing in the Suzuki sky ofAndrea Iannone. The GSX-RR had to rely, once again, on its beginner Alex Rins to vibrate. The Spaniard only missed Q.2 by six thousandths and will start thirteenth, a position he describes as 12+1 in memory of Angel Nieto. For Joe the Maniac, it will be a 20 that turns sour.
A not too bad start, then a fall and, subsequently, technical problems which forced him to stay in the pits. The journey ofAndrea Iannone continues to be hopeless and despairing. Davide Brivio, field man Suzuki explains: “ Andrea had no luck today. After his crash during FP4, there was not enough time for mechanics to repair the bike. He took second and experienced technical problems with an oil leak. We repaired it but the problem returned during Q.1 and we preferred to stop it for safety reasons ».
« It's a shame, because he had the potential to advance to Q.2. The problem having been identified, it should not resurface tomorrow for the race ". A Grand Prix that Joe the Maniac hopes to finish by reaching the top 10: “ I had a good FP3 and things were going well in FP4. We had found solutions that gave me confidence so I attacked a little harder and I fell ».
« I had to change bikes but I was confident for Q.1 before encountering technical problems. My position is not good but I have good feelings so if I get a good start I can reach the top 10 which would be a good result ».
