In his press release, Maverick Vinales states that he felt comfortable on his Yamaha M1 this morning. This wasn't really visible on the screen (big gestures in all directions) but his time, 0,6 seconds behind that of Johann Zarco, seems to confirm it.

On the other hand, the young Spanish driver easily admits that his afternoon was difficult. His bike doesn't react as it should and, worse, no one seems to be able to understand why.

It should be noted that, unlike Valentino Rossi which uses two new identical chassis, Maverick Vinales has chosen to keep two different models, which does not seem to indicate a clear direction to follow…

In the end, it's almost a rant that the Yamaha rider pushes in his press release. So we can imagine what it must be like, in real life…

Maverick Viñales, 11th: “the session was good this morning. I'm pretty good in the wet, and although there are still a few things to improve, honestly I've been pretty comfortable on the bike. This afternoon was very difficult, I've never felt like that on a Yamaha before. So we need to understand which element is the problem. We need to resolve these concerns and try to work even harder. We really don't know what area is a problem, but if we knew we could improve it. This bike is not performing at 100% and we need to find out why. »
