Hervé Poncharal has always spoken with sincerity and without tongue in cheek. When things go well for the French Tech3 team, he shares his joy and passion with us. But when everything goes less well than expected, he also knows how to call a spade a spade and recognize what went wrong!

This was the case today following the double error made by the Tech3 team as a whole, during this Grand Prix of the Czech Republic. A second motorcycle not ready for Jonas Folger, and a passage through the stands much too late for Johann zarco.

Hervé Poncharal : “Today we are not happy after the MotoGP race. I think we worked well over the weekend, although our qualifying positions weren't ideal. However, we knew that the weather would be difficult and the track conditions could benefit us. Jonas was very fast and this he showed in every session, particularly at the right moments. Although he didn't manage to set a fast qualifying time, his pace was really motivating and promising. He had a decent start, but the big turning point in the race for the Tech3 team was when Jonas came into the box and the bike with the slick tires wasn't ready. He therefore had to do yet another lap, which undermined any hope of fighting for a good position. I was even more disappointed when I saw the times he ran, because his pace was fast, and I don't want to talk about what could have been, but if you look at his times, then he would have been in the leading group and it would have definitely been a podium. I'm really unhappy with this situation, and in this sort of race you lose it or you win it with strategy, and the bike should have been ready, which is easy to say now, but it should have been. As for Johann, it was very exciting to see him fight for the lead in the first part of the GP, but he made a mistake, in my opinion, because he should have returned when Valentino, who was already late , did it. If he had done this, it would have helped him get a top five result. This weekend he wasn't as fast as his teammate because we saw that when Jonas caught up and overtook him, he helped Johann increase his pace. Either way, this is a bad result for us today, and this is because we didn't use our heads. I can only apologize to Jonas and the German fans, and for Johann, he should watch what the experienced guys do in front of him. »

But, by quoting him himself during a previous interview, we can only wish him that the days pass quickly and that the wheel turns, already next weekend in Austria: "each individual has his own nature, and my nature is a little, not excessive, but I can climb very high then go very low the next minute. It's true in my life in general, and it's true that even with the years that pile up, you put your heart and your guts into it. It's your life! If on Sunday evening we had a bad race or it ended badly, for example like in Qatar, I can't help but be sad. You can see it from the outside and it takes me two days and two sleepless nights to start moving on to the next subject. And thank God, there are a lot of races in the MotoGP championship that come together relatively quickly so that we can forget the disappointment of the previous Grand Prix. For example, we left Assen with low morale, and I couldn't wait for things to work out. And fortunately, it was only a few days before we had a magnificent race in Germany and I was once again on the Olympus of bliss (laughs). I am like this. »

He’s like that, and that’s why we love him and wish him the best to come…
