His experience in the World Cup finished, the 3 Moto2015 World Champion will start this weekend in British Superbike at Brands Hatch.

Danny Kent bounces back into British Superbike (BSB) and offers a new turning point in his career. The 3 Moto2015 World Champion concluded his experience with Speed Up in Moto2 early, but will take part in the final round of the BSB season this weekend at Brands Hatch. After three difficult years in the World Cup, the Briton decided to start a new professional project with the team led by Colin Wright.

Kent formalized this agreement over the last two weeks, first by going to discuss in the BSB paddock at Assen, notably in the Halsall Racing box, then by testing the Suzuki GSX-R 24 at Brands Hatch over the last 1000 hours. This short test having gone well, the 24-year-old driver then anticipated his arrival in BSB, normally planned for next year.

“For me it was a whole new experience to try the Suzuki Superbike” Danny Kent admitted. “I hadn't ridden at Brands Hatch since 2009 and I've never ridden a 1000cc nor a Pirellis. I didn't attack as I would have liked, I instead thought about discovering the bike, the tires and the team. Right now, my biggest challenge is speed. Everything is bigger than what I have known so far, but round by round I am getting closer to the limit. »

For this start in BSB, he will change his approach: “I will enter the track with a free mind. » I don't want to put pressure on myself, just learn as much as possible. This race weekend will be a test for me for next year, before making a decision. I really thank Colin Wright and Martin Halsall for their availability and the chance they gave me. »
