La first day du Daytona 200, Thursday, saw the domination of poleman of last year, Josh Herrin (Warhorse HSBK Racing Ducati New York), but also the withdrawal of Sheridan Morais (R2CL Racing by Penz13) following a fall in which the South African pilot fractured his ankle.

There were therefore only 51 drivers registered for the 81st edition of the Daytona 200, including 44 selected to participate in the second 30-minute qualification.

During this, Richie Escalante (Vision Wheel M4 ECSTAR Suzuki), third in Q1, achieved an impressive 1'48.133, which shows how fast the times are this year, last year's pole position having been achieved in 1'50.088 by Josh Herrin.

Already yesterday, the Warhorse HSBK Racing Ducati New York rider had improved this time by more than a second aboard his new Panigale V2 in 1'49.043.

Other good news, four manufacturers are in the running for victory, not only with the already multiple winners of the famous race, Josh Herrin for Ducati and Brandon Pasch for Triumph, but also Yamaha with Cameron Petersen and PJ Jacobsen (Jake Gagne having abstained), and therefore Richie Escalante et Hayden Gillim for Suzuki.

Combined standings Qualifying 1-2 Daytona 200:

At the end of this second qualification, the first 12 drivers took part in a 15-minute session called Time Attack to determine the order of each on the first four rows of the starting grid. There, the exercise specialist Josh Herrin once again placed his Ducati at the top of the ranking sheet, ahead of the Yamaha R6 of PJ Jacobsen, the Suzuki GSX-R of Tyler Scott and the Triumph of Danny Eslick : we see, in an event where everything often depends on the aspiration in the last lap, if the refueling goes well, it is very clever who could determine the composition of tomorrow's podium...
