The Grand Prix Commission, composed of Messrs. Carmelo Ezpeleta (Dorna, President), Paul Duparc (FIM), Hervé Poncharal (IRTA) and Takanao Tsubouchi (MSMA) took the following decisions concerning MotoGP, during a meeting organized on May 6 in Jerez, in the presence of Carlos Ezpeleta (Dorna), Mike Trimby (IRTA, Meeting Secretary), Vito Ippolito (FIM, President) and Corrado Cecchinelli (Technology Director):

Sporting regulations — with immediate effect

Rain during MotoGP™ starting grid procedure
During this procedure, teams can decide to use the same motorcycle and not the second machine for the start of the race. This, however, makes it difficult to ensure that the tank is completely full. As a result, the race distance will be reduced by one lap.

Quick departure procedure 
It was recognized that it might be useful to have the possibility of invoking a rapid start procedure in situations other than the interruption of a race, such as, for example, in the case of a delayed start. In the future, the Race Direction may invoke a rapid start when this proves necessary in cases other than the interruption of the race.

Safety in the pitlane
The obligation for MotoGP™ mechanics to wear a helmet in the pitlane has been extended to the Sunday morning warm-up during which many machine changes are observed.
