It is not yet official but it has been known for a while: despite an extension of an additional year, the contract between Dorna and Eurosport will not be renewed in 2019, with the direct consequence in France of the arrival of MotoGP on Canal+, alongside F1.

This is a decision which will obviously change the habits of many French enthusiasts and, as such, we sought to discover the offers currently in force.

To watch the Grands Prix on your television today, the cheapest solution is to take the Eurosport Player, the price of which fluctuates depending on different offers between 4 and 10 euros per month.

This is a basic live transmission service on the Internet, with very little possibility of reviewing past sessions or going back in time beyond 5 minutes, but the advantage of being very inexpensive, to be accessible on computer or mobile, and to also broadcast Superbike, Endurance and CEV.

Eurosport is also broadcast on televisions via CANALSAT, but there, it is impossible to give you a precise price since it depends on your box and the different operators, and the CANALSAT channel packages are no longer marketed independently of the news CANAL offers.

Currently, the most economical enthusiast must therefore spend a minimum of 4 euros over 8 months to satisfy their thirst for the Grand Prix, whereas we can logically expect to have to pay at least the minimum Canal rate next year. , namely Canal + Essentiel at €19,90/month over 24 months via a box.

The step is high, especially since the Multisport pack (perhaps necessary in the event of an F1/MotoGP conjunction) is €10 per month.

Faced with this puzzle, there is obviously the offer from the official site MotoGP.com.

Billed annually at €139,99 + €10 for live timing (admittedly, it's a bit petty), this amounts to paying €12,5 per month and you have there a real professional tool (the one we use) which not only allows you to see all the sessions live, to choose the number and location of the cameras (trackside, helicopter, on-board) and to rewatch them at your leisure, as well as to have access to thousands of videos, results and new statistics.

The only drawback for some of you is that the comments are in English, but there is of course the possibility of keeping only the noise of the engines.

The French enthusiast is therefore not taken hostage, and is even rather well off if we compare him to his Italian, English or Spanish counterparts, the latter even being refused access to the video pass from the official site but being able, in a sort of good exchange, benefiting from a MotoGP/F1 pack at €10 per month.

It is obvious that all of these are just suppositions based on logic and on clearing the labyrinth of commercial offers offered to the viewer... so don't hesitate to enrich this article!

We therefore await with interest the financial offer proposed by Canal+ as well as the technical and human resources implemented to replace Eurosport which, since the restructuring of its team, offers a quality service which enabled it to reach an average audience in 2017. up 55%, to 183.000 faithful. The best audience of last season was due to the Italian Grand Prix which, on June 4, attracted 362.000 viewers.
