After the cruel death of Stefan Kiefer, then the failure of the sale of the Kiefer Racing team, Dominique Aegerter will try to finance his season with the German team on a KTM by appealing to the generosity of his fans.
Dominique was really unlucky in 2017, with the misfortunes of Team Kiefer, but also by totally dominating the Misano Grand Prix by taking command in front Franco Morbidelli at the end of the third round to win magnificently. He was unfortunately disqualified subsequently because his team had not used the recommended and mandatory engine oil.
Dominique's best result in 2017 was a fifth place in Austin, which was very good, but not worth a victory. This fifth position was the best result achieved by a Suter last year, tied with the fifth place of Sandra Cortese in Misano… after Aegerter’s disqualification! Dominique finished twelfth in the World Championship.
He took stock of the situation ten days ago: “ We needed 1,2 million euros and we had to provide 600 euros. Half of this sum was provided by Swiss sponsors who have always supported me. We continue to work. We are cutting corners everywhere to save money. We will do fewer tests, the mechanics will sleep in the truck. We remain in contact with KTM. Day after day, we approach the goal ».
Here is now crowdfunding, powered by fans: “ It's a big help, I thank everyone. My manager Robert Siegrist and my brother Kevin take care of that. I am well surrounded ».
