Brilliant since the start of the weekend, and in great form since his third place in the Mugello Grand Prix, Petrucci put in a great performance in the wet by taking third time in the qualifying session.
During Friday's free practice, Petrux was already in a good position with the seventh time in the dry, 0.760 behind Maverick Vinales' best time. However, the first session was full of emotion for him, with a major motor problem. However, he did not give up and even achieved the best time of this FP1 in front of Johann zarco et Cal Crutchlow.
In qualifying, he was very impressive throughout the session, dominating for a long time with more than half a second ahead of Marc Marquez. But at the very end Danilo had pole position taken away by Johann Zarco, then overtaken by Marquez.
He finished in a very good third place, 0.385 behind Johann, which gives him a good chance for tomorrow's race on a circuit where he is particularly comfortable.
According to Danilo Petrucci, “ It's a very positive moment. I am very happy with this first line. This is the second time in a row and tomorrow, I will leave better than I did in Barcelona (editor's note: percussion by Marc Marquez).
“We are working well, the feeling with the bike is very good, the team is doing good things. I'm very confident for the race because we rode well in the dry. I would like the race to be “dry”.
