After having achieved a superb performance by dominating Q1 and thus qualifying for the second session, the Briton ensured a good group shot for Team Pramac in Q2, his fifth time effectively complementing the third achieved by his teammate Danilo Petrucci.

During the first session on Friday, if Petrucci shone with the best time, Redding was more discreet with the fourteenth time. It wasn't much better in the afternoon when he had to settle for the fifteenth performance. Unfortunately for him, it rained on Saturday morning and he could therefore not qualify among the top ten to be transferred directly to Q2.

He performed well in Q1, setting the best time in the wet ahead of his compatriot Sam Lowes. He then managed to take fifth time during the last session, which will allow him to start this Sunday from the middle of the second row of the starting grid.

According to Scott Redding, “ It was a great day in these wet conditions because it was very difficult. Things went well on Saturday since morning.

“The objective was to improve and we managed to drive fast in FP3. I found confidence and this allowed me to make significant progress.

“It is not easy to do Q2 at a high level after Q1. But I tried to attack and I am very satisfied with this second line.
