For the first time since Jurgen van der Goorbergh in 1999, and Hans Spaan in 1990 in small displacement, the Dutchman Bo Bendsneyder narrowly failed to achieve the best time, but Jorge Martin stole it from him on the last lap. The Spaniard preceded Bo Bendsneyder, Nicolo Bulega, Nakarin Atiratphuvapat, Marco Bezzecchi (CIP), Aron Canet and Joan Mir.

After a completely dry Friday, rain greeted the drivers on Saturday morning for a third session on a wet track. The domination then of Bo Bendsneyder ahead of Nakarin Atiratphuvapat, Joan Mir and the excellent Jules Danilo could not give a very clear direction for the qualifications. There had been a good fifteen falls, and predicting the composition of the first line was a divinatory exercise. The temperature at the start of this qualifying session was 17° for both air and asphalt, exactly the same as in the morning.

George Martin achieved the best initial time 2'01.032. Marco Bezzecchi was suffering from a gearbox problem. Fabio di Giannantonio was the first to fall, without gravity. Nicholas Bulega went down to 1'59.365. Marcos Ramirez crashed in turn 10.

Jorge Martin took command in 1'59.213. Patrick Pulkkinen fell in curve 15. Jules Danilo was fourteenth. Joan Mir, the leader of the World Championship, fell without seriousness in turn 3 (then in fourth position). Bo Bendsneyder took the lead in 1'58.851.

Bendsneyder, who was trying to reproduce his 1'57.078 from the morning, was followed a quarter of an hour from the checkered flag by Jorge Martin, Nicolo Bulega and Joan Mir. Jules Danilo was eighth. Nakarin Atiratphuvapat moved up to fourth position, while Jules Danilo fell lightly in turn 10. Bezzecchi, after his gearbox was changed, moved to fifth position. Ayumu Sasaki fell without gravity.

Juanfran Guevara fell in turn, at the entrance to the chicane. Gabriel Rodrigo imitated him shortly after in turn 8. Then it was Niccolo Antonelli's turn in turn 10. Kaito Toba was next.

Jorge Martin took pole position in 1'58.481. Bendsneyder responded in 1'58.424, but Jorge Martin finished first in 1'57.595 ahead of Bo Bendsneyder, Nicolo Bulega, Nakarin Atiratphuvapat, Marco Bezzecchi, Aron Canet and Joan Mir. Jules Danilo ranked fourteenth.
