La promotion du Championnat du monde d’endurance FIM (EWC) a connu beaucoup de modifications ces derniers mois, et la dernière en date est l’arrivée de Marc VDS Swiss Racing SA comme sponsor titre.
Endurance, a fabulous discipline due to its need to flirt with mechanical and human limits, developed in 1960 in the form of an Endurance Cup bringing together in a heterogeneous way some very dissimilar events.
Structured as the European Endurance Championship between 1976 and 1979, it officially became a world championship under the auspices of the FIM in 1980, sparking the interest of manufacturers.
But after a prosperous period thanks to Japanese manufacturers, the calendar is gradually shrinking and losing attractiveness and visibility, to the benefit of MotoGP and Superbike.
In response, after a period of latency, the formula is revised with the aim of reducing costs and attracting more private teams, with stricter regulations, well-structured categories, and a reduced calendar.
In 2015, the promotion was entrusted to Warner Bros Discovery Sports, which attempted to modernize the concept, both on the field and in the media, with varying degrees of success (Spa).
Ten years later, in 2025, Warner Bros Discovery retains the television broadcast of the championship, but passes the baton of its promotion to a trio PHA-ACO-ÉDITIONS LARIVIÈRE , joined a year later by Honda Mobilityland Corporation to form EMP (Endurance Moto Promoter), a common structure of the four organizers of the four remaining events, intended to promote and develop the Championship.
Today, three months later, the World Endurance Championship unveils its title partner, Marc VDS Swiss Racing SA.
Arrived in Moto2 à sa création en 2010, le comte Marc van der Straten achieved worldwide success there in 2014 with Tito Rabat and 2017 with Franco Morbidelli, before moving to MotoGP from 2015 to 2018 with Scott Redding et Jack Miller.
