While the arrival of night marked this 44th edition of the 24 Heures Motos by removing any chance of victory for the YART-Yamaha #7, the early morning would once again upset the general ranking of the Le Mans endurance event...

The beautiful duel which had kept us in suspense all afternoon between the Suzuki Yoshimura SERT #1 and the YART Yamaha came to an abrupt end when Iwata's machine returned to its box with an engine that was a little too smoking.

The problem was profound and the R1 suffered a removal as well as an opening of its engine, thus depriving Karel Hanika, Marvin Fritz and Niccolò Canepa of any chance of doing well in the Le Mans event.

As a result, the FCC TSR Honda France #5, rather discreet at the start of the race, inherited second position, three laps behind an imperturbable leader and the same in front of the Webike SRC Kawasaki France Trickstar #11 which had experienced brake problems.

The night would tire men and machines but the positions of the leading trio remained stable until early morning when the official Honda returned to its box plagued by problems, undoubtedly electrical.

The Kawasaki, but also the BMW #37, which had fallen for a moment to 44th position, passed the CBR 1000 on the track, still immobilized at the time of publishing these lines.
