If the start of 24 Hours Motorcycles was marked by the duel between the Suzuki GSXR-1000 #1 from Yoshimura SERT Motul and Honda CB R1000 RR-R #5 from FCC TSR Honda France, neither of these two machines was subsequently spared from the incidents hindering a perfect running picture.
For Suzuki world champion, we saw it, a simple out of fuel a short distance from the pit lane: a minute lost not destroying his chances of victory...
More drama!
The @Yoshimura_SERT Suzuki #1 ran out of fuel 50 meters from the pit 😱

For Honda #5, at nightfall, it was more annoying because a supposed problem with the shifter and then with the exhaust necessitated two unscheduled visits to the box, leaving around ten minutes for the operation.
😱The first bike is back into the box. It seems to be about the shifter.#FIMEWC pic.twitter.com/S2agFxNTk6

Suddenly, the Honda #5 lost 5 rounds and Yamaha YZF-R1 #7 from YART – Yamaha Official Team EWC was able to get within less than a turn of the Suzuki took the lead thanks to less consumption, and therefore less refueling.
At mid-race, the fight for victory therefore seems to be between these two machines since the Kawasaki #11, who was only one lap behind, experienced engine problems which required a cylinder head change and an hour and ten minutes in the box...
It's getting very tough for #11. The engine is out.
Good luck guys! #FIMEWC pic.twitter.com/wmscH7dMRk— FIM EWC (@FIM_EWC) April 16, 2022
Around 2 a.m., we witnessed incredible times from the three leading machines, Xavier Siméon on the Suzuki, Niccolo Canepa on the Yamaha and Mike Di Meglio on the Honda (without speaking about Xavi Fores on the Ducati !), everyone knowing very well that nothing is yet decided under the full moon...
Also note, a great fight in Superstock between the Honda National Motorcycles #55, the Kawasaki #33 Louit Moto and Suzuki #44 No Limits Motor Team, for nothing less than 5th place overall!
The night is not over… but Bridgestone seems calm with the three leading bikes!
