Spa-Francorchamps EWC

It's finish ! The YART-Yamaha takes its first victory in a 24-hour race in E.W.C. since 2009, after having clearly dominated the debates a day at Spa-Francorchamps. Despite a botched start – as is often the case, the intrinsic speed of the trio Niccolo Canepa, Marvin Fritz and Karel Hanika on the #1 Yamaha YZF-R7 made the difference. Furthermore, the Austrian team did not experience the slightest major glitch – apart from a slightly too long stop in the early morning, Conversely of FCC TSR Honda France and Yoshimura SERT Motul, other favorites. An – almost – perfect YART-Yamaha at Spa-Francorchamps

Since qualifying, dominated by the four drivers – counting Robin Mulhauser, the reservist – the YART Yamaha had a splendid race, marked by a huge battle at the start of the race with the rivals Suzuki et Honda. Besides, the Honda #1 FCC TSR Honda France posed the most problems to the Yamaha #7, until she lost about five minutes during a pit stop. There Suzuki #12, always among the favorites, suffered a few glitches; between a penalty stop & go of ten seconds, and also, an impossibility of restarting from the stand to Greg Black earlier in the test. After yet another entry into the box at the end of the morning, the Suzuki Franco-Japanese thus finished 4th, with the best lap in the race (2'20.578).

Finally, the Yamaha #7 won this edition with a lap ahead of the Honda #1, followed by the BMW #37 BMW Motorrad World Endurance Team, well back after a big drop in performance yesterday, from the start of the race. However, a small puncture this morning could have put an end to the hopes of the blues. Fortunately for them, it had no serious consequences.

The race will have been eventful in category Superstock, first disputed by the Honda #41 RAC41 Chromeburner before his fall. If she returned later in the event, the Honda #55 National Motos Honda, mythical structure of French endurance, did not ask for so much; the latter firmly clung to the first position and never let go. Sébastien et Valentin Suchet, accompanied by William Raymond, win this edition of the 24 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps EWC. There Kawasaki #33 Team 33 Louit April Moto is second, while the Honda #44 Honda No Limits finished in third place.
