While they were fighting alone for the lead in the 8 Hours of Sepang, the #5 Honda of Mike Di Meglio and the #21 Yamaha of Michael van der Mark crashed around 11:30 a.m. following a collision unintentionally initiated by the Frenchman.
If he could quickly leave and maintain command, the Dutchman would have to return to his box to spend 7 minutes there before returning to the track in 29th position.
With an arrival in two and a half hours, the #21 Yamaha's hopes of victory seem more than compromised...
