Le typhoon Nari which we told you about yesterday hit Japan last night but did not make the situation exceptionally dangerous in Suzuka, bringing “only” heavy rain and wind.
This morning, after theend of the 4 Hours race after only 2 hours 40, things have calmed down but the organizers have decided to make some changes regarding the schedule of the 8 Hours race, starting with the cancellation of the free practice session initially planned as well as the transformation of the Top 10 Trial, a sort of Superpole, into a “normal” 40-minute qualifying practice session.
The rain had temporarily subsided but a 30-minute delay was announced to check that safety was ensured on the track.
Testing should therefore begin at 8:45 a.m. French time, unless they are canceled.
