At Suzuka on March 10, the livery (and not only that…) which will adorn the HRC team for the 8 2018 Hours will be revealed: Takumi Takahashi, first confirmed driver.

There is much anticipation for the very welcome return, in direct and official form, of the HRC team to the start of the Suzuka 8 Hours and the 2018 All Japan Superbike. For the first time in a decade, Honda Racing Corporation has decided to engage directly in the most prestigious motorcycle competitions of the rising sun with a double objective: with Takumi Takahashi, to successfully defend the JSB1000 title won last year under the Honda HARC-PRO colors, but above all to return to the first podium at the legendary Suzuka 8 Hours.

There will certainly be no shortage of resources, as will the ambitious proposals that will be publicly unveiled on March 10. On the occasion of Suzuka Motorsports Fan Thanks Day, the HRC team, for the first time in its history, will present the livery of the Honda CBR 1000RRW, expected protagonist of the 8 Hours scheduled for July 29.

It will be Takumi Takahashi who will mount the saddle with Tohru Ukawa designated Team Manager, while to know the two other drivers of the crew, we will still have to wait a few weeks.

Honda, of course, would like to have two riders currently engaged in MotoGP, starting with Takaaki Nakagami. On the same day, the current LCR Honda rider will be back on the Suzuka track with an RC213V-S (MotoGP “Replica”) and, in all likelihood, will be part of the HRC Team at the 8 Hours, replicating the experience in 2010 and 2017 with HARC-PRO Honda on a work-study basis.
