Rather calm morning near Castellet. The Suzuki GSXR-1000 #1 still leads the race, 14 laps ahead of Yamaha YZF-R1 #96. The Kawasaki BMRT 3D Maxxess Nevers, entered in Superstock, is on the provisional podium.

The category E.W.C. no longer leaves room for doubt. Unless mechanical breakdown, Yoshimura SRC Motul should prevail. Greg Black, which left the handlebars to Xavier Simeon, expressed himself on this comfortable lead: “It’s hard not to lose focus. We must not ride slowly, we try to stay on a base of 1'58 to maintain a rhythm. The track had difficulty drying this morning, the transition was tricky but we were able to adapt without getting trapped. Asked about his driving time, Gregg laughs: I have one relay left, that will make nine. I think that will be enough. »

Figure third in category... Yamaha YZF-R1 #333 VDR Igol Experiences, back from the dead. Florian Marino is currently in 6th position overall and will not be able to get back on top. Yannick Lucot, team manager of the team, puts things into perspective: “We secure P3 in EWC, there are big points to be taken without taking any risks.”

The Superstock category was at the heart of all the attention. First of all, the terrible abandonment of Yamaha YZF-R1 #18 from Team CMS Motorstore Fire Brigade. The team saw its hopes of a podium explode at the same time as the engine at the end of the Mistral straight. “The pilot knew the engine had exploded. He brought the bike back, we removed the skid and found a hole in the crankcase. Race over for us ». Yannick Bureau, team manager, regrets this difficult week. “Treasing. Two injured pilots, and now this engine. We are going to go to Most with a knife between our teeth but we are very disappointed. Three times we come to Castellet and three times things go badly. »

La Suzuki No Limits Motor Team passed in front of the Kawasaki BMRT 3D Maxxess Nevers, due to an exhaust problem. The victorious team in Superstock at Estoril left 10 minutes in the box, allowing No Limits to return to first in category, and third overall. Romain Mangé, team manager, does not despair: “ We're going to go get them. We lost time, not too much for a line change, but nothing was done. We hope to win the category knowing that we spent 95% of the race in the lead. » A few moments later, BMRT regains his right and returns to third, following a prolonged stop of the #44 Suzuki (shifter problem). This unannounced stop allows the Honda #41 (RAC41-Chromeburner), the last winged machine on the track, to take second place in the Superstock.

With three hours to go, nothing has been decided yet.
