EWC Bol d'Or 2021: Suzuki in the lead at nightfall

The 2021 Bol d'Or continues at Le Castellet. The drivers have calmed down, the track has smoothed out and the teams are “getting into the tough stuff”! Of course, the race has calmed down considerably since the first crazy hour. Yoshimura SERT Motul throne at the head, just in front of the YART – Yamaha Official Team EWC et Webike SRC Kawasaki France Trickstar. 

 

The afternoon was punctuated by a strange drop in the rhythm of the Honda CB R1000 RR-R #5. Indeed, Yuki Takahashi seemed to fall without gravity, as evidenced by his raised lever guard. In the pits, the team was rushing to change the half handlebar in question. The rear brake plate also seemed affected. FCC TSR Honda France will have lost almost a lap in this operation.

 

 

Xavier Simeon, driver of Suzuki #1, speaks at the end of his first stint: “The sensations are very good, I am very comfortable on the bike. We increased our lead a little, it was only the first stint so no rush”.

New disillusionment later for FCC TSR Honda France ! Yuki Takahashi falls again and is forced to start again 23^e.

 

 

The driver, apparently not confident, would have to be replaced for a few stints. Victory seems compromised but the race is still long. Note, the fall of the Honda CB R1000 RR-R #55 National Motos in Superstock.

In the SST category, Kawasaki #24 dominates the debate, while Honda #41 and Suzuki #44 follow each other closely. 

BMW Motorrad World Endurance Team suffered from vibrations at the start of the race, which forced the team to stop prematurely. The M1000RR #37 therefore continues its slow rise thanks to a Kenny Foray in leg. Alan Techer, although injured, managed to improve the lap record (1'23''707) for Tati Team Beringer Racing, in sixth position.
