After the race was stopped with a red flag due to the intensity of the rain, the Race Direction brought together the team managers to find out their opinion regarding the track conditions.

Shortly before 19 p.m., the organizer of the World Endurance Championship published the following press release:

“Due to deteriorating weather conditions on the Paul Ricard circuit, the Bol d’Or was interrupted at 18 p.m. »

“Following a heavy downpour on the Castellet circuit and for the safety of the drivers entered, the race management decided to suspend the race at the Bol d'Or at 18 p.m., three hours after the start. »

“The machines entered are parked without possible intervention by the crews in the pit lane before the race resumes. »

“The race management has just informed the teams of the procedure for resuming the race in the coming hours. This interruption is announced for a minimum duration of three hours. »
