It’s a big “WOW!” » of relief that comes to mind when reading the message which has just been published by the relatives of Gino Rea on his Instagram account!

Already yesterday, the news was circulating that the British pilot was showing signs of recovery, following the publication ofa Tweet from former driver Terry Rymer who now works for Eurosport.

The family's message today reinforces this idea and is resolutely optimistic, since it speaks of rapid recovery.

This post is made by Gino's close family.

We were unable to do this sooner due to Japanese culture, which does not release any news to the media without direct contact with the family.

We arrived in Japan on August 8 at 20 p.m. We thank the EWC, FIM, Suzuka Circuit, British Consulate and the TSR Racing Team for their assistance in obtaining visas urgently.

At 14:30 p.m. we had the opportunity to see Gino and now we have confirmation from the doctor on his condition.

Gino was admitted to intensive care on Saturday August 6 following an accident during Free Practice 2. He suffered a concussion and suffered serious head injuries, he also has injuries to his left collarbone. He is still sedated to reduce swelling in his brain and control his temperature. He is due for another scan on Wednesday for a reassessment of his condition.

Thank you for the excellent work of the Suzuka doctors, helicopter crew and hospital staff.

Gino is very strong in spirit, he lives life to the fullest and gives 100% in all situations. Being fit and healthy will help him recover quickly.

Thanks for all the support and messages.
We will keep you informed as soon as we have new information.
