After two spectacular and hotly contested rounds at Le Mans and Estoril, the race for the 2021 FIM EWC World Champion title is particularly open. The minimal differences in points which separate the favorites at the top of the provisional ranking increase the tension on the Bol d'Or on September 18 and 19 at the Circuit Paul Ricard.

With a maximum of 65 points up for grabs at the Bol d'Or, the 2021 FIM EWC world ranking risks once again being upset at Le Castellet.

The 24 Heures Motos saw the triumph of Yoshimura SERT Motul and the 12 Hours of Estoril the victory of FCC TSR Honda France. But today it is the Webike SRC Kawasaki France Trickstar which is at the top of the provisional ranking thanks to its consistency on the 2nd step of the podium ahead of the FCC TSR Honda France, the BMW Motorrad World Endurance Team, 3rd in the first two events, and Yoshimura SERT Motul. These four teams are tied by 11 points. In ambush, we also find the VRD Igol Experiences. The first private team among the official teams, it is ahead of ERC Endurance-Ducati which finished 7th and 8th in the two races at the start of the season, and the YART – Yamaha Official EWC Team pursued by bad luck despite performances which still carry it in head of the race.

A Bol d’Or full of energy and publicity
The 24 hours of racing on the Circuit Paul Ricard on September 18 and 19 will therefore concentrate multiple energies. Each training has its requirements.

The Kawasaki clan will fight to maintain its leadership position. The FCC TSR Honda France wants to continue its rise in the world rankings. The BMW Motorrad World Endurance Team is still working towards its first FIM EWC victory. Yoshimura SERT Motul must turn things around after his two falls at Estoril. VRD Igol Experiences continues to play its part as the best privateer capable of finishing on the world podium. ERC Endurance-Ducati continues the development of its Panigale to make it an Endurance beast. The YART – Yamaha Official EWC Team will arrive at Castellet with a knife between its teeth since its only possible strategy is now victory at all costs.

This therefore bodes well for an exceptional race, especially as other teams are expected in the leading peloton such as Wójcik Racing Team, Moto Ain, Tati Team Beringer Racing and Bolliger Team Switzerland.

The energy will also come from the stands. The Bol d'Or 2021 is scheduled for September 18 and 19 with the return of the public, a first since the start of the health crisis in early 2020.
