After a season break, the Sapeurs-Pompiers are making a strong return to the FIM EWC World Championship for 2021: a new partner, a new machine and new drivers, they are ready to play at the forefront in the quest for the Cup of the 2021 FIM Endurance World Superstock.

The Yamaha of “Team 18 Sapeurs-Pompiers CMS Motostore” will once again be present in the Superstock category with Bastien Mackels and Hugo Clère and Johan Nigon, a trio of riders ready to climb to the top of the podium.

Belgian Bastien Mackels, 2nd in the German IDM Superbike championship in 2018, has already won the FIM Endurance World Cup in 2017 with the Yamaha Viltais Experiences team.

As for Hugo Clère, French Supersport Champion in 2016, he has just won the FIM Endurance World Cup with the Yamaha Moto Ain team, and is still well placed in the Superstock category in Endurance since 2016.

Johan Nigon also has great experience in Endurance, with two victories in the Superstock category to his name, in 2016 at the Bol d'Or with Moto Ain (with Hugo Clère) and in 2019 at the 24 Hours of Le Mans Motos with the Suzuki of Team Motors Events.

Thus, the team is reviewed in depth, but two elements remain unchanged, or almost: even if the Yamaha of Team 18 Sapeurs-Pompiers CMS Motostore will be of the latest generation, it will be red and equipped with Dunlop tires.

With the exception of the drivers and two professional mechanics, Team 18 Sapeurs-Pompiers CMS Motostore is made up of professional or volunteer firefighters who take their leave to participate in the rounds registered in the FIM EWC Championship.

This French team has been present in the World Endurance Championship since 2001. Team 18 had its best season in 2009, finishing second in the FIM Endurance World Championship.
