Xavier Simeon

Xavier Simeon and his SERT teammates, including Sylvain Guintoli, had the Endurance title within reach during the 06:00 a.m. round in Most. But they were on the verge of losing him with this start of a fall that the Belgian pilot managed to avoid with the force of his wrist. A Marc Marquez-style rescue from the world before which impressed his colleagues and even veterans like Jorge Lorenzo.

The images and video will remain one of the moments of this season on the circuits. Xavier Simeon saved the house Suzuki in this Endurance event in the Czech Republic and relieved his teammates by keeping the GSX-R 1000 R on its wheels, despite passing through a sector soiled by a trail of oil left by another motorcycle...

A recovery congratulated on social networks, notably by the retired five-time World Champion but also by a mischievous Alvaro Bautista who is now thinking about putting “sliders” on the gloves…

Bautista suggests Simeon put sliders on his gloves

The Belgian driver commented: “ I had a little scare during the race because of an oil stain. Falling was prohibited in this race and I was lucky to avoid it. We had less pressure than at the Bol d'Or where we had to recover the points lost in Estoril. We were able to run a more cautious race which allowed us to win this title which rewards all the work of the team ».

It will be recalled that this test, although of 06:00 a.m., allowed the BMW Motorrad Endurance Team to take its first victory in this paddock with a minimum margin of 70 thousandths on the YART extension, author of pole position…
