The 31-year-old triple Superbike World Champion from Northern Ireland will ride with Leon Haslam and Kazuma Watanabe for Team Green in the World Endurance Final on July 29.

Jonathan Rea already won the event in 2012, on the Honda FCC TSR with Kousuke Akiyoshi and Tadayuki Okada. He would have two more victories to his name if, while his team largely dominated the race, his Japanese teammate had not crashed.

According to Johnny Rea, “ I am really excited and honored to work with Team Green for the Suzuka 8 Hours this year.

“It's a race that I love and after winning it in 2012, I always intended to come back to take part in it.

“Since I arrived at Kawasaki, we have always talked about working together on this project and now is the right time with the program fitting perfectly into my WorldSBK schedule.

“It is one of the toughest races in the world and a true test of man and machine.

“We will have to do some testing before the race to make sure we are ready.

“Together with the Green Kawasaki team, we will do our best to achieve a result that we can all be proud of. »
