Axel Maurin suffered a violent fall this morning during his training session. qualifying for the 2018 Bol d’Or.

The driver who rides under the colors of the city of Sens for the team Viltaïs lost control in the Sainte Baume bend of the Yamaha R1 that he shares with Florian Alt et Alan Techer. He then came to embed himself, feet first, in the protective barriers made of tires covered with rubber advertising banners.

Visibly suffering, his right leg stuck under the protection, he nevertheless remained for a good quarter of an hour before being evacuated to Sainte-Anne hospital because he had to wait for a crane to lift the tires in order to free him.

Finally, according to information from Gilles Della Posta, the Yamaha rider experienced some vomiting and suffered a small head trauma. He therefore remains under observation but his physical condition is not considered serious.

All our best wishes for recovery nevertheless go to Axel, almost always accompanied by his dad on the races he competes in.

Axel Maurin : “Sorry for scaring a lot of people, my team and my family. I came out of it very well with nothing broken just big bruises. this is the main. But the disappointment remains enormous because I think that I would not be able to race tomorrow, and I would not finish this lap which looked pretty good in terms of time?. I hope this mistake doesn't cost me too much. I apologize to my Yamaha Viltaïs Pierret Experiences team, I wanted to do the right thing. I thank my equipment manufacturers for the top protection, without that the toll would surely be much heavier. I'll give you some news very soon, I should go out around 19:00 p.m. Thank you all for your messages!! »
