Sylvain Guintoli

With this mishap that occurred to Sylvain Guintoli we will end up being convinced that since Suzuki announced its withdrawal from competition, in MotoGP as in Endurance, a sort of curse instantly fell on its troops thus put on reprieve. In Grand Prix, the results are no longer there, pending those of the resumption at Silverstone, and in Endurance, bad luck is hitting the brand's drivers. Xavier Simeon was contaminated by Covid-19 and World Champion Sylvain Guintoli, the proverbial lucky star, was also cursed with this injury which forced him to give up the great Japanese classic of Suzuka...

Heartbreaking, because in view of the decisions taken by Suzuki, next year, if there is an expedition to Suzuka, it will not be for riding the GSX/R. We know that the Frenchman is looking for a future in WSBK, 40 years, over a Kawasaki satellite. But there is still a long way to go. The immediate news of Sylvain Guintoli is more sullen. The Yoshimura Suzuki Endurance Racing Team Motul driver will not participate in the Suzuka 8 Hours which will take place this weekend.

Sylvain Guintoli: “I'm really sorry I can't race this weekend"

After an injury during testing earlier in the week, the Frenchman returned to the United Kingdom to receive treatment for his injured left arm. Unfortunately, he injured his hand and will not be able to race this weekend. But he will prepare for the final round of the 24 Hours of Bol d'Or in September.

Guintoli said on GP One : " I'm really sorry I can't race this weekend. Coming back to the Suzuka 8 Hours after two years was a big challenge, but unfortunately it is impossible for me to race. We are leading the World Championship and it was time to try to win this fantastic race. I wish the best to the team and my teammates, I know they are very strong and I can't wait to see the Bol d'Or again for the next and final race in 2022 ».
